УВАГА!
Фінансова допомога від Товариства ім. Митрополита Шептицького

ATTENTION!
GRANTS AVAILABLE IN 2012 FROM THE METROPOLITAN SHEPTYTSKY SOCIETY

"The Mission of the Metropolitan Sheptytsky Society of Saskatchewan
("the Corporation") is restricted to promoting cultural, social, educational
and spiritual activities among Ukrainian Catholics in the Province of Saskatchewan,
and to assist financially or otherwise any organizations
that propagate cultural, social, educational and spiritual well-being
of Ukrainian Catholics in the Province of Saskatchewan."

True to its mission statement, the MSSS is pleased to announce that the Grant Initiative project will again be offered for the 2012 year.

for the coming year is one which will be a gesture of appreciation to all parishes in Saskatchewan who have supported the Society through monetary or in-kind donations in the past.

Parishes in the Eparchy of Saskatoon are eligible to apply for a grant of up to $500 for a parish project or initiative which will contribute to the local needs of the church community or cemetery. Particular attention will be given to rural parishes in the Eparchy, especially those who making a first time application.

Some examples of projects which might be considered are:

• initiatives for upkeep or maintenance of "sacred space" (church or cemetery)

• initiatives which promote liturgical worship in a parish

• projects which bring people together in their community for a spiritual or educational purpose

• improvements to local church records or archives

• resources to document events from the past or present, in order to create a living record of the church’s history (photo journals, web projects, cemetery archives projects)

The aim of this grant initiative is to have funds remain in the local church community. This grant program is a gesture of appreciation to parish communities which have supported MSSS. There are many hard-working, devoted Ukrainian Catholics who do all they can to support their local church, and still fall short of much-needed funds for basic parish needs. In recognizing these needs, we would like to again ‘give back’ to local communities in 2012. Our local churches give us spiritual nourishment in the present; the cemeteries are filled with our beloved deceased from past generations, to whom we owe everything in the present. Ukrainian Catholic sacred spaces in our province – parishes and cemeteries – deserve our attention and support.

Deadline for 2012 applications is June 30, 2012.
