The METROPOLITAN SHEPTYTSKY SOCIETY OF
SASKATCHEWAN (MSSS) was Incorporated under the Societies Act of Saskatchewan
on March 25, 1976 as a Charitable Corporation. The MSSS was formed and
incorporated at the request of our beloved Bishop Andrew Roborecki.
The aims and purposes of the MSSS are to promote
the cultural, social, educational and spiritual activities among the Ukrainian
Catholics in Saskatchewan, and to assist, at the discretion of the Society,
any organizations that propagate the social, cultural, educational and
spiritual well-being of Ukrainian Catholics in Saskatchewan.
Under the Bylaws of the Society, automatically,
"every person, 18 years or older, who is a member of a Ukrainian Catholic
Parish or Mission within the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Saskatoon, is a
member of the MSSS."
Term of Office
Board members are
elected for three (3) year terms. The dates of election are staggered to ensure continuity of experience and involvement. An effort is made to provide representation from all regions of Saskatchewan.
Meetings of the Board
Regular board meetings are held
throughout the year, usually in Saskatoon, as determined at the Annual Meeting,
or by special call. An annual general meeting is is called for the purpose
of electing Directors, approving the Annual Financial Statements and the
transaction of other business as per the meeting notice.
Everyone who belongs to a Ukrainian Catholic parish in the Eparchy of Saskatoon (province of Saskatchewan) is entitled and welcome to attend the Annual Meeting.
Special meetings are called, when required, by the Chair of the Board.
