APRIL 2013

The AGM scheduled for April 6 had to be cancelled due to severe weather driving conditions. Many roads in the Province were deemed unsafe due to snow, blowing snow and icy conditions. Reschedule notice will follow.

Bishop Budka plaque initiated and sponsored by the MSSS was blessed by Patriarch Sviatoslav following Pontifical Divine Liturgy at St. George's Cathedral on Sunday, September 23. Click <here>.

APRIL 2012
Official notice of AGM & Special Meeting to be held May 12, 2012 at Hafford is posted online, and widely distributed throughout the Eparchy.  Click <here> to view the notice. Other notices as published throughout the Eparchy were prepared by Bishop Bryan Bayda, CSsR.

The Special Meeting to remove the MSSS Board of Directors was called for reasons which presented alleged and misleading rationale. Based on documents, archives, and Corporate law, Dr. M.B. Krochak, MSSS Board Treasurer, prepared a response to the points made. To view click <here>.

MARCH 2012
MSSS honours history through its sponsorship of the Musée Ukraina Museum Chapel - Religious Gallery. Click <here> for details. The Museum will also manage a $25,000 education endowment fund in made memory of +Mike Yuras who named the MSSS in his estate.

At the regular Board of Director's meeting a motion was 'Carried' to sponsor the creation of a bronze memorial plaque to recognize the 100th anniversary of the appointment of Nykyta Budka as the first bishop for Ukrainian Catholics in Canada. This plaque will be erected at the Hafford Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church. To view the design of the plaque click <here>. The date and time of unveiling and blessing is yet to be confirmed. Notification will follow.

Upon the suggestion of Bishop Bryan, the MSSS has sponsored the reformating and reprinting of a prayer card for the beatification of the Servant of God Andrey Sheptytsky. To view the design of this card click <here>.

MARCH 12, 2011
By a unanimous motion of the Eparch and the MSSS Board of Directors, notice was given that "the Special Meeting on the Notice of Dissolution scheduled for March 19th, 2011 in Hafford, Saskatchewan, is postponed." This notification was published on the MSSS website and disseminated to parishes without delay.
