Each year, just prior to the Metropolitan Sheptytsky Society of Saskatchewan Annual Meeting, a Panakhyda is held to remember our deceased rectors, board members and residents (as known). A current list of names is printed on a separate memorial page.

November 29, 2003 50th Anniversary closing celebration: Moleben, Panakhyda and lunch followed by the Metropolitan Sheptytsky Society Annual General Meeting. Commencing at noon, at The Dormition of the Blessed Mother of God Parish, 105th Street in Saskatoon.
August 16, 2003 Sheptytsky Institute marked exactly 50 years since the official opening of its doors as a residence for post-secondary training and education of Ukrainian Catholic students. A Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the Chapel of St. Andrew the Apostle of Ukraine, and fellowship took place following that special service. On August 16, 1953, 3,000 people were in attendance at the official opening of the Institute and participated in a day filled with blessings and prayers, dinner, displays and a concert. Please pray for all who have passed through the doors of the Institute – alumni , friends of our community, our supporters and benefactors. 50th Anniversary closing celebrations will take place Novemeber 29, 2003 at The Dormition of the Blessed Mother of God Parish. October 5, 2002 marked exactly 50 years since the laying of the cornerstone at Sheptytsky Institute. We recognized the occasion on Sunday, October 6 with Divine Liturgy celebrated in the Chapel, followed by an informal supper with the student residents. His Excellency Bishop Michael Wiwchar, CSsR joined us, as did three of the very first Institute residents: Bonace Korchinski, Dr. Michael Krochak and Ray Moroz (shown standing at the base of the cornerstone). Everyone agreed that things have changed greatly since those early days!
June 21-23, 2002 - Sheptytsky Institute Celebrates 50 Years - This weekend was selected to observe the 50th Anniversary of Sheptytsky Institute, marking a half century of service and dedication to the university community, the Eparchy of Saskatoon and the province of Saskatchewan. Alumni, board members and staff from Saskatchewan, across Canada and the United States gathered to participate in the program of activities, to reminisce about "the old days", and to reacquaint themselves with colleagues and friends.
The 50th Anniversary activities commenced with registration on Friday evening, at the Institute. Saturday provided opportunities for golfing, local tours, University Homecoming activities and reminiscing. A Divine Liturgy of Thanksgiving and a banquet and program took place at St. George's Cathedral Saturday evening. Sunday began with a morning Divine Liturgy at Ss. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, followed by a brunch and farewell at Sheptytsky Institute.
About 70 alumni, board members and staff registered for the weekend celebration. Close to 130 people attended the Anniversary Banquet and Program at St. George's Youth Centre. Click here to view photos.
April 7, 2002 - Easter Breakfast (Speelne Svyachene) - Laurie Friesen, Campus Pastoral Minister, and Henry Spilchuk, Office Assistant, organized an Easter Breakfast. Invitations were extended to the residents of Sheptytsky Institute, current board members, sisters, representatives of parish organizations from the Saskatoon parishes, and other supporters of Sheptytsky Institute.
Rev. Fr. Myroslaw Tataryn, assisted by His Excellency, Bishop Basil Filevich, celebrated the Divine Liturgy. The responses were sung by those present. Following the Divine Liturgy, Bishop Basil blessed the Easter foods. The staff and Board Members served the guests of this joyous occasion.
