At a March 2012 Metropolitan Sheptytsky Society of Saskatchewan Board of Director's meeting a motion was made to sponsor the creation of a bronze memorial plaque to recognize the 100th anniversary of the appointment of Nykyta Budka as the first bishop for Ukrainian Catholics in Canada. This plaque will be erected at the Hafford Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church.

The completed plaque was blessed by by Patriarch Sviatoslav following Pontifical Divine Liturgy at St. George's Cathedral on Sunday, September 23.
