Donations have always been an important means of fund raising for Sheptytsky Institute. Major fund raising drives were conducted when the Institute was being built, and again when major renovations were undertaken in 1984.

As part of the second major renovation project in 1999, fund raising was once again identified as desirable and necessary to pay off renovation loans as quickly as possible. In the spring of 2000, a major effort was undertaken in this regard. Alumni, organizations, businesses and potential individual supporters were identified and a major letter writing and phoning campaign was initiated, and continues to the present day. Donors are recognized on a Donor Plaque according to the donor levels outlined.

A special aspect of this fund raising campaign was to contact every parish in the Eparchy, and to invite them to make a financial contribution to the Institute. Particular attention is being devoted to the smaller parishes, especially those that have services infrequently, or that might be at risk of closure. Each donor parish is also recognized on a Donor Plaque, leaving a legacy and memory for future generations.
